CCBH Presents: In the immediate aftermath of a suicide there are many factors’ families/friends must address which are not easily discussed or shared: biohazard clean-up, legal issues, unpaid debt, lack of a will, insurance access, bank accounts/finances, and probing questions from authorities and first responders. Suicide loss survivors can shed new light on highlighting their needs following a death by suicide and are the best resource to guide introducing more robust postvention services. In this workshop, learn about one postvention program, Our Black Rose, and join a conversation to explore how suicide loss survivors can more easily and publicly gain support, recognition, and system change.
Learning Objectives:
1. Explain about the postvention services following a suicide loss and their importance.
2. Describe a local postvention resource, Our Black Rose, for suicide loss survivors.
3. Identify other desired postvention services and brainstorm potential solutions.
