SUMMARY:Preventing Vicarious Trauma
DESCRIPTION:Mental Health Partnerships Presents: An interactive workshop designed specifically for individuals in helping professions. Through images\, demonstrations\, and hands-on exercises\, this dynamic session will showcase strategies for rewiring and rebuilding the brain. \nOur focus will be on techniques to aid in recovery and also focus on the prevention of the effects of both Vicarious and Insidious Trauma. We will consider the different causes of vicarious trauma in peer supporters and the strategies that agencies can employ to prevent and minimize the exposure and effects of vicarious trauma. \nParticipants will learn practical methods for supporting peers after exposure to vicarious trauma or crisis and develop skills for responding effectively. \n  \nREGISTER HERE.

DESCRIPTION:Mental Health Partnerships Presents: The CPS Certification Training is a 75-hour hybrid training fully authorized by the PA Certification Board (PCB). The class is delivered live (in-person) during the first week\, and Online via Zoom the second week. \nThe training provides foundational knowledge\, skills and values that equip individuals to work as Peer Supporters in the state of Pennsylvania. This training costs $1400\, Funding available through Allegheny County. \nThe CPS Certification Training includes the following topics: \nThe history of Recovery and Peer Support\nRecovery Values\nWRAP Seminar I\nCPS Core Competencies\nOutreach and Engagement\nStages of Change\nIntroduction to Motivational Interviewing\nEthics and Boundaries\nDocumentation\nMental Models / Ladder of Inference\nDiversity and Worldview\nSupport for Transitions\nCredentialing and Job Search \nSuccessful completion of this training requires consistent attendance\, full participation in activities and assignments\, as well as satisfactory scores on two weekly tests.
