HeadsUp Grand Rounds Series 2024: Modifying Therapeutic Approaches for Children and Adolescents with Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBTp)

HeadsUp & OMHSAS Presents: This session will provide an overview of implementing Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp) for youth with and at-risk for psychosis. The intended audience members are clinicians and other providers who currently use or plan to use CBTp and/or better understand its uses in clinical settings. The presenters will first review the conceptual basis of and empirical evidence for CBT broadly, and CBTp in particular. Second, they will discuss specific suggestions for modifying CBTp for children and adolescents. The session will conclude with a review of case examples discussing CBTp with youth with psychosis and with youth at clinical high-risk for psychosis.

Session Objectives:
1. Describe the conceptual basis of and empirical evidence for Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Psychosis
2. Understand modifications of CBTp for children and adolescents
3. Apply CBTp to case examples of youth with psychosis and with clinical high-risk for psychosis
