CCBH Presents:
This training will focus on mental health inequities in racial and ethnic minority children. Specific consideration will be given to:
mental health treatments, medications, suicide, social determinants of health, request for NIH funding for the ADVANCE Initiative, and various ways doctors are working on unconscious bias’s and desegregating healthcare. Participants will work on skill development around:
1. Increasing awareness of disparities in treating patients of varying racial backgrounds
2. Identifying factors contributing to persistent disparities in treatment
3. Understanding psycho-social factors, or social determinants of health, influence upon treatment
4. Recognizing implicit bias as providers and how this impacts treatment
