MHTTC East Central presents: This presentation will be a clinically driven overview on schizophrenia spectrum disorders. Mood disorders with psychotic features will be used to highlight the differential diagnoses of schizophrenia spectrum disorders, and misdiagnoses of Black patients. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Describe the features of psychosis Distinguish psychotic disorders from affective and other disorders presenting with psychosis in the Black community Describe the general framework of medication management Identify barriers to the access of mental health services Become familiar with resources for patient referral, family psychoeducation, and community support.
