HeadsUp Grand Rounds Series: Family Peer Support in Childhood Psychosis

August 20 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

HeadsUp Presents: When a child experiences psychosis, their family’s world turns upside down. Fear and uncertainty take over, and it’s difficult for parents to know where to go for help, especially if they don’t have experience with the mental health system. Family peer support can make this difficult journey a little easier. During the presentation, Family Peer Support in Childhood Psychosis, Christine Michaels, CEO of NAMI Keystone Pennsylvania, will explain how shared experiences play a vital role in a comprehensive support system, and how parent peer support can not only help parents meet their child’s needs, but help clinicians reach their ultimate goal of wellness for their client.
